Tidelands Boathouse is a very unique, 5 star, detached holiday rental property situated on the shore of the Teign estuary in South Devon.
It is in a beautiful, secluded and tranquil setting where you can just chill out, relax and watch the world go by. The peace and quiet make it a perfect spot to read, write, paint, play music or simply look out at the spectacular views and natural wildlife on the river.
The boat house has been converted to a very high standard, with every modern convenience. It has 1 master bedroom and offers luxurious, very spacious accommodation for 2 people or can accommodate a small family as there is a double sofa bed in the sitting room.
The sitting/kitchen/dining area has two comfortable sofas, coffee tables, satellite TV, free wi-fi and internet, modern fully fitted kitchen with dining bar and french doors out to the lawned garden. The master bedroom on the first floor has a juliet balcony with french doors opening directly facing the river and fantastic views from the velux windows on both sides.
Outdoors there is a patio and garden to the side of the boathouse with Weber bbq, table and chairs, sunloungers and relaxer chairs, offering al fresco dining right next to the waterfront.
If you don't want to cook, Coombe Cellars bar and restaurant is just a minute's walk away, right on the river's edge, offering delicious food all day long prepared freshly from locally sourced produce. It has a delightful, driftwood-inspired interior and al fresco dinining outside on the lush terraces.
For watersports enthusiasts you can launch a boat from your own private driveway, offering doorstep access to the water for boating, fishing, rowing, water skiing, wakeboarding, windsurfing, kayaking, canoeing, or just plain paddling. An outdoor hot shower is provided to wash off wetsuits.
If you prefer walking and cycling there are miles of walks in the surrounding fields and countryside, and along the shore of the estuary. The famous Templer Way passes the boathouse on its way from Teignmouth to Haytor on Dartmoor, a walk of some 18 miles. Best advice is to get a lift to Haytor and then walk back.
Tidelands Boathouse is located in the village of Combeinteignhead, which has a local pub in the centre, The Wild Goose, and Combe Cellars bar and restuarant, just along the beach from the boat house. There are a variety of coastal beaches within 5-10 minutes drive, the nearest being the lovely, sandy beach of Shaldon, a 2 minute drive away.
Converted in 2011, the boat house is laid out on two levels. The sitting room, kitchen/dining and bathroom are on the ground floor and master bedroom on the first floor. The ground floor has porcelain floor tiles, carpeted stairs to the first floor, and then wall to wall carpet in the bedroom. There is full gas central heating with on-demand hot water and individual room control, and dimmable low voltage downlighting throughout.
